From the Airport you can take the bus to Colombo Central Bus Station (Petah). From here there are highway buses to Matara. Matara is close to Polhena beach, Weligama beach and Mirissa beach. OR From outside the airport gate you can take a tuktuk taxi to 18th Mile post junction (Airport junction) and then get a passing highway bus to Makumbara highway bus statation. From here you can get many highway buses to Galle, Matara and many more southern coast towns. There are more options too feel free to contact us for free travel guidance.

Galle: Best if you stay inside Galle fort for the best experience. Outside Galle fort is a local town.

Weligama: Best for beach front and surfing. High energy and touristic area.

Mirissa: Splendid beach, touristic town, plenty of hotels.

Polhena: Near the popular beach party locations. Calmer local feel. Easy access to the highway buses. Cheaper than the previous towns. Good base point to explore Mirissa, Weligama, Galle.

There are many ways starting with the cheapest. 1) Public bus from Colombo Central bus station (Petah). 2) Train from Colombo Fort central railway station. 3) Highway bus from Makumbara or Kadawatha bus station. 4) Pickme/Urber Taxi. 5) Private/rented car (Not recommended if you are a first timer in Sri Lanka)
